About the Alexandria Jaycees
We're an organization chartered in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1940, currently comprised of about 100 adults aged 21 to 40. We are a chapter of the Virginia Jaycees and part of the U.S. Junior Chamber, and are sometimes called the "junior chamber of commerce".
Our purpose is to provide young adults with civic, social, and business training opportunities. As the second oldest, and consistently one of the largest and best chapters in Virginia, the Alexandria Jaycees have hundreds of members dedicated to serving Alexandria. While working to advance the community and the chapter, Alexandria Jaycee members benefit from program participation which enables them to grow as individuals, professionals and citizens. In addition to civic activities which directly benefit the community, as Jaycee members grow, the community continues to prosper from their contributions.
