Community Service

Jaycee chapters the world over are known for the good works they do in their communities, and our Community Development ("C.D.") portfolio is no exception.

From helping out the Red Cross at the annual Waterfront Festival, to lending a hand repairing low income housing during Rebuilding Together Alexandria, to little, lesser-known, but just as important projects throughout the year, the Alexandria Jaycees are there.

Alexandria Jaycees members choose which projects to donate their time to. Here's a list of some typical community service projects: Alexandria Scholarship Telethon ALIVE! Food Drives Blood Drives Camp Virginia Jaycee Caroling With Senior Citizens Goblin Games Holiday Shopping Tour for Underprivileged Children Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry: IMAGINE Dinner Potomac River Watershed Clean Up Rebuilding Together Alexandria Relay for Life Red Cross Waterfront Festival USO Care Packages Vola Lawson Animal Shelter

The C.D. portfolio also handles the government involvement and international programming for the chapter. Typical projects include:

• Brunch with a Congressperson or City Councilperson
• Model General Assembly
• International Cultural Nights
