| Pre-Registration and Other FAQs: |
Why should I pre-register? IT SAVES YOU $5 PER SPACE! Pre-registering for the yard sale lets us know that you are planning to attend the yard sale and helps us collect the information in advance we need from you to speed registration on the day of the sale. Remember that all spaces are first come, first served. Overflow space on the surrounding sidewalks and grass areas may be used at the discretion of the Alexandria Jaycees once all the parking spots are taken. A space is held for you until 7:00 a.m. Vendors arriving after 7:00 AM may not be able to participate in the sale depending on space availability and will be unable to unload in the sale lot to unload because all vehicles must be removed from the sale lot by 7:00 AM. Can I reserve a specific spot for the yard sale? Registering for the yard sale will NOT reserve a specific spot for the yard sale. So, if you would like a specific location for the sale on the day of the event it is highly recommended that you come to the yard sale early and pick out the spot that you prefer. Are there spots that are off limits to vendors? Yes, there are spots that are essentially "off-limits." For example, the Jaycees have a tent set up at the front of the lot to answer questions from buyers and vendors. The Jaycees also sell refreshments at that location throughout the sale, including: hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, and a variety of snacks. In addition, there may be other spots deemed off limits by the Jaycees on a sale date to accommodate requests through the Americans with Disabilities Act. When should I pay? The Alexandria Jaycees have a new payment policy for yard sales in 2011.
Those who pre-register and provide a valid email address will be notified in the event a sale will not take place. Otherwise, a notice will be placed on the event line at (703) 866-7171. |
